1. This tutorial shows how to create an Ad-hoc invoice and release it to the Payor portal.
Ad-hoc invoices can be used when the payee does not have one of the match roles on a match, or the payment sits outside the available payment reasons on a match.
2. To create an Ad-hoc invoice, click the arrow next to Payments to expand the dropdown.
3. Click Ad-hoc Invoices
4. Select the Person from the dropdown list this invoice will be created for.
5. Type the name or part of the name of the person in the search bar and press Enter.
6. Click the name of the person.
7. Click Payor to expand the dropdown list.
8. Click the Payor name to select it. For this example, it is Payor X.
9. Click Description to add in a description of the ad-hoc invoice.
10. For this example, we are using the Ad-hoc invoice to invoice the payor for Assignor fees. Type in your description and Click Create.

11. An Invoice Number will be automatically generated. Next, we will add a line item to this invoice.
12. Click Add Line
13. Click Description
14. Type in a description of the line item.
Important: Do not use the $ symbol in the description, as it will cause an error in the processing of the invoice.
Type in the Amount of the line item and Click Create when finished.

15. Add any other line items needed by clicking the Add Line button. You can edit an existing line item by clicking the Edit icon next to that line item.
16. When finished, it can be marked as Paid at the Field, by Check, or Elsewhere.
If the payment needs to be documented in the Payor Portal or if it will be processed using Ref Insight Pay, click Release Invoice To Payor.
17. The Payor Details section is now updated.
To view the invoice we just created in the All Invoices report, click the arrow next to Payments to expand the dropdown.
18. Click All Invoices
19. Search for this invoice using the Search bar. Search items could be the invoice number, amount, payor, or description.
20. Type in your search item and Press Enter
21. Click the magnifying glass to view or edit the details of this Ad-hoc invoice.
22. Any edits made here, such as editing the invoice description, editing the existing line item, or adding a new line item, will automatically update the invoice in the Payor Portal.
Click cancel when finished to return to the All Invoices report.
