27 STEPS
1. This tutorial demonstrates the two options available to officials to declare their availability, and where this information is located in the assigning workspace.
Let's start in the officials portal and look at the two options.

2. The official clicks Availability

3. The default method is that the official is available, unless they are blocked out.

4. If they prefer to be considered unavailable unless they specifically mark themselves as available, they click that option.
Guidance on the two methods is displayed below the selection area.

5. They click OK to confirm.

6. They click Add Available Dates to mark the dates and times they are available to officiate.

7. They can select an individual date ...

8. Specify All Day ...

9. Or Specific Times for a particular day.

10. They enter the Start and End Time of when they are available.

11. Then Save Changes when done.

12. They can also select a Date Range and repeat the previous steps to specify All Day or specific Start and End Times.

13. The official sees the dates and times they marked themselves as available when using this Assume Unavailable method.

14. In the Assigning Workspace, click the Columns icon to see which availability method each official has chosen.

15. Click Availability Method to select it.

16. If you want to display other columns, select them as well.

17. Click Apply Settings when finished.

18. The column Avail Method is now displayed.

19. The Legend explains what each icon means.
Assume Available uses a checkmark and means the official will block out dates they are not available.
Assume Unavailable uses a lock icon and means the official marks the dates and times they are available.

20. Click the column header Avail Method to filter it.

21. For those who choose the Assume Unavailable method, meaning they specify only those dates and times when they can work, their availability may be more limited.
To focus on these officials, select the Lock icon.

22. We can now focus on these officials for a specific match and role since we know they have specifically marked this date and time as available.
In this example, both officials are available on 8/29/25.

23. If we select 8/30/25, we now see Steven Evans is unavailable. Click here to see the reason Steven is unavailable.

24. A pop-up window shows the details. We can see Steven did not mark this date and time as being available.
Click the X to close the pop-up window.

25. We'll select the other official since they likely have limited availability and we know they are available for this date and time.

25b. Drop

26. Unselect the filter by unchecking the box to its left, or remove the filter entirely by clicking the X to its right.

27. Thank you for watching the tutorial on the two methods of availability officials can choose from, and how to display this information in the assigning workspace.
