55 STEPS
1. Welcome to Part 3 of the 4-part series on Referee Ratings. In this tutorial, we review how to set ratings for individual match roles within Schedules of a Competition.
Individual match overrides and adjustments for self-assign are also reviewed.
2. A user must be a Competition Admin or a Full-Access Admin to set or override ratings within Schedules and Roles.
To set ratings within Schedules, start by going to the Competitions page.
3. Click the magnifying glass next to the relevant Competition.
For this example, we will select a men's adult amateur competition with one Schedule.
4. Go to Schedules and click the magnifying glass.
5. Scroll down to or click Roles
6. A rating can be set for any or all match roles within a schedule for maximum flexibility.
There are two options to set ratings: the edit icon for a specific match role, or the grid edit for editing across match roles. Let's start with the edit icon.
7. Click the Rating dropdown item.
8. Select the relevant rating for this match role from the Ratings scale previously completed in Part 1. For this example, we will choose a rating of 12 - Men's Adult Amateur.
9. Click Save Changes
10. Our rating for the Referee role is now displayed.
To edit ratings for multiple positions, click Grid Edit.
11. Double Click the relevant cell to edit it. Here, we will select a rating for AR1.
12. Select the relevant rating from the dropdown list. For this example, we are comfortable with a slightly lower rating for the AR1 position.
13. Repeat these steps for any other match roles you wish to have a rating for.
14. You can select the same or different ratings for each match role.
Click Save when finished.
15. Click Cancel to return to the Schedule page.
16. Let's now review how to override a set of ratings for a specific match. This option is useful for things like rivalry matches, playoffs, or finals.
Click Matches.
17. Find the relevant match through a general search or by an item like Match Key.
18. We will use the last match of the season as our example to override the ratings we previously set.
19. Click the magnifying glass next to the match.
20. Click Match Rating and note the ratings we previously set at the Schedule level.
21. Click Manage Overrides
22. Select the Role you want to override from the dropdown list.
23. Let's start with the Referee

28. The base rating from the Schedule and Role settings and the Override ratings at the Match Level are displayed.
29. Click Cancel to return to the Match page.
30. Click Cancel when finished.
31. Let's look at a Competition that has multiple Schedules at the youth level and explore adjusting our ratings for self-assign.

An assigning rule to enforce minimum age settings is available at the global or schedule levels.
40. Click Save when finished.
41. Repeat these steps for any other schedules you want to set base ratings for. Click the relevant schedule at the top right of the page to switch.

45. We have returned to the U10 schedule to review adjusting ratings for Self Assign.
From the Schedule page, click Self Assign.
46. Click Grid Edit to edit across match roles.
47. Ensure the match roles are set to "Yes" to allow self-assigning
48. Select the default status for each role when an official self-assigns. Options are tentative, meaning the assignor wishes to review these self-assignments before releasing; and accepted, meaning no review or release is needed.
49. In self-assign, both a minimum and maximum rating can be set to control who is eligible for these matches.
Minimum ratings can differ from the base ratings. Higher ratings may help ensure qualified officials self-assign to these matches.
50. Edit the cells as previously described to fill in minimum and/or maximum ratings.
51. Click Save when finished.
52. Repeat these steps for any other schedules using self-assign that need ratings.

54. Click Cancel to return to the Competition page.
55. Congratulations for finishing Part 3!
See you in Part 4 to review how to use Referee Ratings within the Assigning Tool.
