61 STEPS

1. This tutorial shows how to find matches available for self-assign, select it, and notify the assignor if it needs to be turned back.

Step 1 image

2. To start, click Self Assign in the menu.

Step 2 image

3. Matches made available for self-assign by the assignor, and which you are eligible for, will display here.

Step 3 image

4. Click the arrow to expand the Guide.

Step 4 image

5. To be eligible for self-assign, an assignor needs to add you to the pool they use for self-assigned matches.

Navigate to the Your Assignors section on the home page to contact your assignor and verify you are in their pool.

Step 5 image

6. Once confirmed you are eligible, you will go to the Self Assign item in the menu.

Step 6 image

7. This tutorial will review how to Use Filters Effectively to help you find matches that suit your preferences.

Step 7 image

8. Then we'll see how to Select and Confirm Matches.

Step 8 image

9. Maximize Your Opportunities by keeping your availability updated, acting quickly, and balancing your workload.

Note that assignors may limit the number of self-assigned matches an official can do in a day.

Step 9 image

10. For Common Issues and Solutions, see this area of the guide.

Step 10 image

11. Click the arrow again to collapse the guide.

Step 11 image

12. We currently see all matches assignors in the account have made available and which this official is eligible for.

Click Filters to help narrow this list.

Step 12 image

13. Click Max Drive Time to expand the dropdown. This filter helps find matches that are within a certain drive time between your home address and the match site.

Step 13 image

14. For this example, we will choose 30 minutes.

Step 14 image

15. To narrow the list of matches displayed between specific dates, click Start Date.

Step 15 image

16. For this example, we'll select Sept 2nd as our start date.

Step 16 image

17. Click End Date

Step 17 image

18. For this example, we'll select Sept 30th as our end date.

Step 18 image

19. Click Apply Filters

Step 19 image

20. It's possible that no matches will meet the filter criteria previously set. If that occurs, we'll need to adjust our filters.

Step 20 image

21. Click Filters

Step 21 image

22. Let's remove the Max Drive Time filter for this example.

Step 22 image

23. To remove a Maximum Drive Time, click the blank row at the top of the list.

Step 23 image

24. Click Apply Filters

Step 24 image

25. Now we see several available matches. You can do advanced filtering, sorting, or grouping of matches using the Actions button. Or for quick filtering, you can click on any of the column headers to select an item.

Step 25 image

26. For example, if we wanted to focus on a specific City, click the City column header and select the city of interest.

Step 26 image

27. The filter we set is shown here.

Step 27 image

28. Only the matches in Germantown are now displayed.

Step 28 image

29. To remove the filter, click the x on the right hand side.

Step 29 image

30. If you prefer to set a filter for a specific match site, click the Location column header to show what locations are available.

Step 30 image

31. The matches available at that location will display. Click the x on the right side of the filter to remove it.

Step 31 image

32. To filter for a specific Competition, click the Competition column header and select the relevant one.

For this example, we will choose the Lakeville Fathers Day Cup Competition.

Step 32 image

33. We now see two matches that are available, with 3 match roles available for self-assign: Referee, AR1, and AR2.

Step 33 image

34. To select one of these roles for self-assign, click the magnifying glass next to the match of interest.

Step 34 image

35. If the assignor has added a game fee and chosen to display it, it will be visible here. Other items such as payment method, minimum age, and minimum years of experience will display if the assignor has filled in these items.

Step 35 image

36. Before self-assigning to this match, check the match details for Date, Start Time, and the Drive Time from your home to the match site to ensure you can work the match.

Step 36 image

37. Other Available Matches on the same date and at the same site are listed here for your convenience, in case there are other matches available you can work.

Remember the assignor may set a maximum number of self-assignments officials can do in a day.

Step 37 image

38. When you're ready to self-assign to a match role, click the plus sign next to that role.

Step 38 image

39. Click OK to confirm this action. By doing so, you are agreeing to officiate this match.

Step 39 image

40. The assignor can put self-assigned roles in either tentative or accepted status.

Assignments set to accepted will show in the assignments area of the app. Tentative assignments need to be released by the assignor before they will display in the app.

Step 40 image

41. Click Self Assign to return to that page.

Step 41 image

42. Tentative assignments will display under the Pending Requests area until the assignor releases the assignment to you.

If you need to cancel this self-assigned match, notify the assignor by clicking the garbage can and filling in the form.

Step 42 image

43. Remaining available matches will display in this section. We can see there is also a 10:30am match on the same day and at the same location.

Let's self-assign to that one as well by clicking on the magnifying glass.

Step 43 image

44. Click the plus sign to self-assign for the AR1 position.

Step 44 image

45. Click OK to confirm this action.

Step 45 image

46. In this example, the assignor set the AR1 position to go straight to accepted.

Step 46 image

47. Click Assignments

Step 47 image

48. Click Accepted (1) to see our self-assigned match that went directly to Accepted status.

Step 48 image

49. The match details for our AR1 self-assigned match are displayed here.

Step 49 image

50. The self-assigned match in tentative status will not display under Pending until the assignor approves and releases the assignment.

Step 50 image

51. Once the assignor approves and releases the tentative assignment to you, the match will display under the Pending area of Assignments.

Step 51 image

52. The match is now in Assigned status and you will need to accept or decline it.

Step 52 image

53. Select the match (or multiple matches if there are several) by clicking the checkbox.

Step 53 image

54. Click Accept Selected Assignments

Step 54 image

55. Both assignments are now under the Accepted (2) area.

Step 55 image

56. All match details are displayed here.

Step 56 image

57. Under the Self-Assign menu item, the tentative assignment is now removed from the Pending Requests area, since the assignor has approved and released it.

Step 57 image

58. For more details about your accepted matches, click Assignments.

Step 58 image

59. Click the orange icon next to the match.

Step 59 image

60. Useful information such as a map and directions to the site is available by clicking Site Details.

Click Contact Crew to see who is on your crew or to send them a message.

Click Contact Assignor if you need to send the assignor a message.
